BUFFALO, NY – Brianna Decker tallied a hat trick to lead the Boston Pride to a 5-3 victory over the Buffalo Beauts Sunday afternoon at HarborCenter. The Beauts are still winless in three games.

Boston took a 4-2 lead at the 8:45 mark of the third period on a goal by Gigi Marvin. Buffalo came back less than a minute later (9:28) to make the score 4-3 on a power play goal by Emily Pfalzer, her first of the season.

Decker sealed the win for Boston with an empty net goal at 19:29.

Boston outshot Buffalo 14-11 for the final period and 48 to 28 for the game. Brianne McLaughlin made 43 saves in net for the Beauts.

Four goals were scored in the second period. The Beauts tied the score, 1-1 at 2:21 when Kelly Steadman tallied her third goal of the season.

The Pride came right back at 4:09 to take a 2-1 lead on a goal by Emily Field. Boston upped its lead by two at 5:48 when Decker scored her second of the game.

But Buffalo closed the gap to 3-2 when Steadman scored her second of the period and fourth of the campaign at 16:34. It was a shorthanded goal.

Buffalo was outshot 18 to 11 for the period.

Boston jumped out to a 1-0 lead late in the first period on a goal by Decker. The Pride outshot the Beauts in the opening period, 16-6.

The next game for the Beauts will be on Sunday, Nov. 15 against the Conn. Whale. Game time 3:30 p.m.
