CORTLAND, N.Y. – State University of New York Athletic Confrence (SUNYAC) selects Plattsburgh sophomore Jimmy Poreda (Tonawanda, N.Y.) as Goaltender of the week, Plattsburgh senior Ryan Kuhn, (Wheatfield, N.Y.) as Player of the week, and Potsdam freshman Jack Bloem, (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) as its Rookie of the week.

Poreda backstopped the Cardinals to a pair of wins over the weekend and helped Plattsburgh State lock up the No. 3 seed in the SUNYAC Tournament. Across both games, he fashioned a .962 save percentage and a 1.04 goals-against average. He made 19 saves in a 5-1 win over SUNY Cortland on Friday before turning aside 32 shots in a 2-1 victory over rival No. 3/3 Oswego State on Saturday. For the season, he ranks among NCAA Division III leaders in save percentage (ninth, .936), shutouts (tied for 11th, 3) and goals-against average (13th, 1.86).

Kuhn registered two points on a goal and an assist in a 2-0-0 week for the Cardinals that helped Plattsburgh State secure the No. 3 seed in the SUNYAC Tournament. He posted an assist in a 5-1 win over SUNY Cortland on Friday before scoring the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory over rival No. 3/3 Oswego State on Saturday. For the season, Kuhn has 12 points on four goals and eight assists.

Jack Bloem had four goals in a 1-1 weekend for the Bears. On Friday, he scored once in a 3-2 loss to No. 3 Oswego. On Saturday he recorded his first career hat trick, including the game-winning goal, as Potsdam rallied to defeat Cortland 5-2.
