Beauts Lost To Whale In SO, 3-2

STAMFORD, CT– In a low-scoring affair in Stamford, the Connecticut Whale improved to 7-0 on the season, defeating the Buffalo Beauts in the shootout, 3-2. The Beauts lead early with a goal from Meghan Duggan 51 seconds into the first period. Shelby Bram scored at 6:30 of the second period to put the Beauts up 2-0. The Whale were able to get one back before the end of the second period with a goal from Sam Faber midway through.

In the third period, the Whale were chipping away at the Beauts, and tied the game up with 25 seconds to go in the third period with a goal from Kaleigh Fratkin. both teams saw incredible chances in overtime but nothing went in. In the shootout, all three Whale shooters scored, with Kelly Babstock, Jessica Koizumi, and Kelli Stack all getting the puck past Amanda Makela. Only one of Buffalo’s shooters, Kourtney Kunichika, was able to get one past Jaimie Leonoff in the shootout. New week, the Whale travels to Brooklyn to take on the Riveters.
