22 Players Named to 2015 USA Women’s U-22 Team

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – Twenty-two players who participated at the 2015 USA Hockey Women’s National Festival have been chosen for the 2015 U.S. Women’s Under-22 Select Team that will compete in a three-game series against Canada from Aug. 19-22 at the Lake Placid Olympic Center in Lake Placid, New York.

The USA Hockey Women’s National Festival took place Aug. 11-16 in Lake Placid.

The roster features eight players who helped the 2015 U.S. Women’s National Team earn a gold medal at the International Ice Hockey Federation Women’s World Championship in Malmo, Sweden. Those players are Hannah Brandt (Vadnais Heights, Minn.), Dani Cameranesi (Plymouth, Minn.), Alex Carpenter (North Reading, Mass.), Megan Keller (Farmington, Mich.), Annie Pankowski (Laguna Hills, Calif.), Haley Skarupa (Rockland, Md.), Lee Stecklein (Roseville, Minn.) and Dana Trivigno (Setauket, N.Y.). Carpenter and Stecklein also helped the 2014 U.S. Women’s Olympic Ice Hockey Team earn a silver medal at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia. Melissa Samoskevich (Sandy Hook, Conn.) helped the 2015 U.S. Women’s National Under-18 Team earn a gold medal at the IIHF Under-18 Women’s World Championship in Buffalo, New York.

The 22-player roster (seven defensemen, 13 forwards and two goaltenders) and staff listing is available here. The 22 players represent 11 different states. Minnesota leads the pack with six representatives, while Massachusetts has four, New York has three and Michigan has two. California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana and Maryland each have one representative.
