MORRISVILLE, NY- The Utica College women’s hockey team stretched its shutout streak to four games as it topped host Morrisville State, 4-0, in non-conference action Wednesday evening.

Junior Keira Goin (Dobbs Ferry, NY/Hotchkiss School) set a new single-season program record with five shutouts this season. She has not allowed a goal in the last 241:04 of play. Goin turned aside 19 shots to improve to 8-2-1 on the year. She is now fifth nationally with a .963 save percentage and seventh in goals against average (.91).

The Pioneers, who are currently receiving votes in both national polls, improve to 9-2-1 on the season. Utica will wrap up the first semester as it hosts Williams College on Saturday. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.

Three players registered their first collegiate goals as freshmen Danielle Haasbeek (Grand Forks, ND/Balmoral Hall), Elizabeth Dohner (Highlands Ranch, CO/Colorado Selects), and Taylor Dion (Colchester, VT/Boston Shamrocks) all found the back of the net. Hassbeek got Utica on the board at 4:13 of the first period as she put in a shot off assists from Samantha Husak (Jackson, MI/Grass Lake) and Victoria Pelton (Sterling Heights, MI/Belle Tire). Junior Gabrielle Schnepp (Northville, MI/Belle Tire) extended the lead just six minutes later as she connected with freshman Lauren Patterson (Burlington, Ontario/Oakville) and senior Morgan Reed (Fort Myers, FL/Cushing Academy) for her sixth of the year.

UC added a pair of goals just 2:30 apart in the second period to seal the victory. First, Dohner buried a feed from sophomore Taylor Osowski (Highlands Ranch, CO/Colorado Selects) at 6:13. Then, Dion netted her first of the year, off assists from Kelly Critzer (West Salem, OH/Ohio Flames) and Danielle Hassbeek.

Morrisville’s Renee Schmaltz made 36 saves in the loss for the Mustangs, who fall to 5-4-2 on the year.
