DMITROV, Russia – Clayton Keller (Swansea, Ill.) and Joseph Woll (Dardenne Prairie, Mo.) keyed in the shootout victory tonight as the U.S. National Under-17 Team edged Sweden, 2-1, here at Dmitrov Arena. With the win, Team USA finishes with a 3-0-0-1 (W-OTW-OTL-L) record and clinches second place at the 2015 Under-17 Five Nations Tournament.

A turnover to the right of U.S. netminder Woll led to the game’s first tally by Sweden. The goal, scored at 13:34, was the lone marker of the opening period.

A scoreless second stanza set the stage for Max Jones (Rochester, Mich.), who lit the lamp with just over three minutes remaining in regulation. Adam Fox (Jericho, N.Y.) and Trent Frederic (St. Louis, Mo.) collected assists on the play.

Overtime could not settle the score and a shootout was needed. Keller was the only successful U.S. shooter and Woll turned aside all three Swedish shooters to send Team USA away victorious.
