PLYMOUTH, Mich. – The U.S. roster for the 2017 World Junior Summer Showcase has been trimmed to 34 players for the final four days of the camp.

“As a staff, we have been very pleased with the level of intensity and competitiveness we’ve seen so far,” said Jim Johannson, general manager of the 2018 U.S. National Junior Team and also assistant executive director of hockey operations for USA Hockey. “It’s evident there is depth at every position and that is certainly a big positive as we continue the evaluation process the rest of this week and throughout the fall.”

The 2017 World Junior Summer Showcase continues today at USA Hockey Arena with Canada facing Finland at 1 p.m. ET, followed by USA versus Sweden at 4 p.m. ET (both games live on NHL Network). The Showcase serves as an audition for players seeking to make their federation team that will compete at the 2018 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship, Dec. 26, 2017 – Jan. 5, 2018, in Buffalo, New York.
