Two Black Knights Earn Atlantic Hockey Assoc. Weekly Honors

BOSTON, Mass. – Two Black Knights were honored by the Atlantic Hockey Association for their standout performances last weekend. Dalton MacAfee was tabbed the Defensive Player of the Week, while Michael Wilson was deemed the Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week.

Senior captain MacAfee tallied a team-leading four points last weekend as the Black Knights stayed unbeaten in conference play with a road sweep of Mercyhurst. MacAfee had a goal and an assist on Friday and two assists on Saturday. He also led a penalty-kill unit that held Mercyhurst to 1-for-13 on the power play.

The Needham, Mass., native leads Atlantic Hockey in several categories including points per game (1.29), assists (7), assists per game (1.00), power play points per game (0.86) and defenseman scoring.

Wilson scored two goals, including the game-winning overtime goal on Saturday, as Army swept their first series at Mercyhurst in program history.

Both of the Fon du Lac, Wisc., native’s goals came in Saturday’s victory, as the junior scored both the game-tying and game-winning goals in the third period and overtime. Wilson finished plus-2 for the weekend and added two blocks.

The Black Knights swept Mercyhurst last weekend by scores of 5-1 and 3-2 (OT). It was the first road sweep over the Lakers in series history and extended their unbeaten streak to five-straight.
