PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Syracuse women’s hockey team (2-5-3, 2-1-1 CHA) attempted to rally after falling behind 2-0 at Robert Morris (7-1-4, 3-0-1 CHA) on Saturday afternoon with a goal in the last two minutes of play, but fell short 2-1.

Lindsay Eastwood put the Orange on the board after Syracuse opted for an empty net for an extra attacker. It was the first goal of Eastwood’s career after sitting out the entirety of last season due to a medical condition.

The Colonials jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period. Syracuse went on the attack in the third period, looking to tie up the game. The Orange outshot Robert Morris 16-0 in the third frame.

Stephanie Grossi took 24 of Syracuse’s faceoffs in the game, winning 15 of them. Overall, the Orange held a 30-29 advantage on the faceoff.

Goaltender Abbey Miller registered 23 saves in the game.

Syracuse will stay on the road with a two-game series at Mercyhurst (2-7-1, 1-3-0 CHA) on Friday, Nov. 11 and Saturday, Nov. 12.
