Seven Different Players Score As Fredonia Tops Cortland, 7-3

FREDONIA, N.Y. – Seven different players scored goals as the Fredonia men’s hockey team skated to a 7-3 win versus Cortland Friday night in SUNYAC action. The Red Dragons fell to 9-11-4 overall and 3-9-3 in the conference, while the Blue Devils improved to 8-13-3 and 4-9-2.

Sophomores Darren McCormick (Buffalo/Buffalo Jr. Sabres), Andrew McCann (Bowmanville, ON/Wellington Dukes) and Tommy Nolan (Mahopac/Connecticut Oilers) scored goals for Cortland. Senior Sam Pinsler (Chicago, IL/Green Mountain Glades) and sophomore Dan Broderick (White Plains/New York PAL Islanders) each contributed two assists, and junior Casie Garrison (Cortland/Philadelphia Revolution) added one assist.

Sophomore goalie Drew Weigman (Gaithersburg, MD/Northern Cyclones) made 34 saves in 46:40 for the Red Dragons before giving way to sophomore Kollyn Jones (Cazenovia/New York PAL Islanders), who stopped all four shots he faced in 13:20.

Taylor Bourne led Fredonia with one goal and two assists. Oskar Gerhardson and Bobby Polachek each tallied one goal and one assist, and four others notched one goal apiece. Zach White collected three assists. Goalie Eric Bogart stopped 32 shots.

The Red Dragons close out their season at Buffalo St. on Saturday at 7 p.m.
