POTSDAM, N.Y.-SUNY Potsdam women’s hockey players Jordan Ott (Hilton, N.Y./Rochester Edge) and Alexane Rodrigue(Monkland, Ontario/Bemidji State) were named to the ECAC West Honor Roll for their play during the Bears opening weekend.
Ott, last season’s conference and USCHO.com Rookie of the Year, kicked off the season with three points in two games against Buffalo State. The sophomore forward recorded an assist in Potsdam’s 3-2 overtime loss to the Bengals on Friday. On Saturday, Ott scored the Bears’ first goal and assisted on the game-winner in Potsdam’s 2-1 victory.
Rodrigue, a junior goaltender, stopped 79 of the 83 shots she faced for a .952 save percentage and a 1.99 goals-against-average in the two contests. In the opener, she made 42 saves to get the Bears to overtime. On Saturday, Rodrique stopped 37 more shots help Potsdam record its first win of the season.
The Bears are back in action this weekend with two contests against first-year program William Smith College. Potsdam hosts the Herons at 3 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.
