POTSDAM, N.Y.—For the second week in a row, SUNY Potsdam women’s hockey player Samantha White (Oceanside, Calif./Anaheim Lady Ducks) has earned the Northeast Women’s Hockey League’s Rookie of the Week award.
On Saturday, the freshman goaltender stopped a career-high 37 shots as the Bears rallied for a 2-1 victory at Buffalo State. White is now 2-0 with a .981 save percentage and a 0.50 goals-against-average in her first two collegiate starts.
Potsdam (3-1, 1-1 NEWHL) kicks off a home-and-home conference weekend series with SUNY Cortland (1-2-1, 0-2) at 7 p.m. in Maxcy Ice Arena this Friday. The Bears then head to Cortland for a 2 p.m. battle with the Red Dragons on Saturday.
