Pijaca Earns NEHC Co-Rookie Of The Week Honors

MARSHFIELD, Mass. – Freshman goaltender Rose Pijaca (Worcester, Mass./Worcester Academy) was named New England Hockey Conference co-rookie of the week as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.

The Worcester native had an impressive game Manhattanville’s final game before the New Year on Tuesday, making 20 saves and recording her first career shutout in a 5-0 victory over Neumann University.

Pijaca has had an impressive start to her collegiate career, currently ranking in the top-32 nationally among Division III goaltenders in save percentage (.932) and goals against average (1.58).

Pijaca and the Valiants will have over a month off until they return to the ice. The women will travel to Vermont to take on Holy Cross in the first round of the Rutland Herald Invitational hosted by Castleton on January 2.
