MMHSAA Appoints Mroz to Lead the Team
First Women Head Coach to Debut in the WNYGVIHL
The Monsignor Martin High School Athletic Association is pleased to announce the hiring of Linda Mroz as their new head coach for the Girls Hockey team.  Linda who has been an assistant for the MMHSAA team the past 3 years becomes the first women to lead a team in the WNYGVIHF League.  Her knowledge and experience of the game is sure to be a positive to the program.  Linda’s experience as a player includes being a member of the Niagara University Division 1 team that participated in the NCAA Frozen Four that finished third in the nation.  Her organizational and managerial skills stem from not only being a director with the Regals house program but also coaching Field Hockey and Lacrosse at Sacred Heart Academy.  Linda will work with assistant coaches Jeffery Duquette of North Tonawanda, and Mark Lauber of East Aurora.  The staff is excited to begin a new season that will see the MMHSAA team take on Orchard Park/Frontier on November 21, 4:30 PMat the North Buffalo Ice Rink.

Janet has been covering women's hockey for over 35 years. Along with a 38 year career in Public Relations and over 40 years photographing sports, she found a passion in women's hockey. Her initial story was on the founding of the Niagara University D1 program, she expanded to collegiate and youth and was active in the founding and promoting of the WNY Girls Varsity Ice Hockey Federation. When Professional Women's Hockey hit the ice she was there, one of the first to release the story in WNY. Along with her husband, Randy, people comment that if there's hockey, the Schultz's are there!
