BUFFALO, NY – CCM Hockey is pleased to announce that Connor McDavid, the Canadian Hockey League’s Player of the Year and consensus #1 pick in the upcoming 2015 NHL Draft, has decided to exclusively use CCM equipment to launch his NHL career. A native of Newmarket, Ontario, McDavid joins an impressive roster of CCM athletes that includes John Tavares, Nathan MacKinnon, Patrice Bergeron, Pavel Datsyuk and Carey Price, to name a few.

CCM’s new ambassador is coming off an outstanding 2014-15 season as the captain of the OHL’s Erie Otters, posting 44 goals, 72 assists and 120 points in only 47 regular season games. McDavid’s 49 points in 20 playoff games were also far more than any other OHL player has amassed in recent history. A rare talent, McDavid recognizes scoring chances before they happen, while his skating ability and puck handling skills give the dominant center everything he needs to excel in the NHL.

“I am thrilled to be partnering with CCM, a company with so much hockey heritage,” said McDavid. “I wore CCM products this past season, and the brand’s clear focus on technology and innovative products will continue to help me perform my best on the ice.”

“CCM is a firm believer in Connor McDavid’s talents and we want to be able to assist him in achieving his goals by offering him the very best product and support,” said Sean Williams, VP Global Marketing & Sales, Reebok-CCM Hockey. “Connor embodies all of our brand values and he will be a great ambassador for the CCM brand, both on and off the ice. We feel privileged to have him on our team.”

As part of the CCM agreement, McDavid will play a key role in the brand’s global marketing strategies, including being the first professional player to be featured in the hockey brand’s recently released Made Of Hockey campaign. He will also be supporting future product launches, while continuing to perform on the ice with CCM’s premium equipment.
