Lockport Express Look Back And Ahead

This past weekend saw the Lockport Express travel to the big apple to face off against the New York Aviators in their second and third meeting of the year which saw the Express go 1-1 on the weekend including a thrilling 6-5 shootout win on Sunday Oct, 4th. It all started on Saturday Oct 3rd with a 5-1 loss which was also filled with penalties for both teams. A combined 102 penalty minutes were given out in the contest which saw Lockport get 50 and New York get 52. Providing the only offense was leading scorer Dylan Jenkins scoring his 7th goal of the season on an assist from Josh Evoy. Goalie Sal Stalteri made 38 saves on 43 shots for the Express.

Sunday was a much better day for the Express as they came away with a 6-5 shootout win. The day started off rough as the Express found themselves down 4-0 in the middle of the second until Greg Terlov scored his 1st of the year which opened the floodgates as Nicholas Wilcox and Justin Durkee scored quickly after to make it a one goal game going into the 3rd. New York’s Jimmy Warrick made it 5-3 late in the 3rd on a powerplay until Dylan Jenkins matched it with his own powerplay goal and then Ryan Logar scored quickly after late to send the game into OT. The guys decided they wanted to keep playing and finally sent the game into a shootout where Express players Frank Vecchio and Nicholas Wilcox both scored to give the Express the much needed win. Goalie Tim Schiess had a busy day stopping a whopping 68 saves on 73 shots. Lockport is leading the season series with New York 2-1.

This weekend the Lockport Express will be traveling to New Hampshire for the first NA3EHL showcase of the year. On Saturday Oct 10th the Express will take on the Maine Wild (1-7) and on Saturday Oct 11th the Express take on the Northeast Generals (1-6).
