ROCHESTER, NY – Junior forward Kourtney Kunichika (Fullerton, CA/Marina) of the RIT women’s hockey team was named the College hockey America Player of the Week on Monday, for the week ending Jan. 20, 2013. It is Kunichika’s first weekly honor of her RIT career.

Kunichika tied a career-high with six points on three goals and three assists in Friday’s 11-0 win over Sacred Heart. She scored a goal in each period for her second career hat-trick. Kunichika is now tied for the team lead in scoring with 18 points on seven goals and 11 assists in 20 games.

The Tigers return to action on Saturday and Sunday with a pair of home games against Robert Morris. Saturday’s game begins at 7:05 p.m., while Sunday’s gets underway at 2:05 p.m.
