The Buffalo Junior Sabres’ Ontario Junior Hockey League home game against the Milton Icehawks, originally scheduled for November 12, has been moved to Monday, November 11 at 4 p.m. at the First Niagara Center in downtown Buffalo.

Admission to this game will be free. However, in observance of Veterans Day (or Remembrance Day in Canada), fans will be encouraged to make a voluntary donation at the door to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.

“We are truly excited and honored to be playing at First Niagara on Veterans Day,” said Buffalo Jr. Sabres General Manager/Head Coach Michael Peca. “I think it will be a great opportunity for families to come down and enjoy great hockey free of charge. We hope to raise some funds at the game that will benefit The Wounded Warrior Project. It’ll be a great day for hockey.”

The Jr. Sabres, as announced on October 22, will soon call downtown Buffalo their permanent home when they move into the forthcoming HARBORCENTER in the fall of 2014. The Jr. Sabres organization will also expand upon moving downtown, with the introduction of six new youth teams ranging from 18U to 11U.

The Buffalo Junior Sabres, founded in 1975, is a Junior-A level hockey club that develops elite players for consideration by higher-level hockey programs, most notably NCAA college hockey.  For more information about the Buffalo Junior Sabres, visit their website at www.buffalojuniorsabres.com.
