Hobart’s Connal Named TO D3hockey.com Team of the Week

Hobart College sophomore goaltender Alexander Connal (Simsbury, Conn.) was named to the D3hockey.com National Team of the Week. The NEHC Goaltender of the Week stopped a season-high 34 saves in a win over then No. 3 Trinity last Friday.

With the 3-2 victory, Connal improved to 4-1-1 in goal this season. He is sporting a 1.81 goals against average and a .931 save percentage. Connal ranks second in the NEHC in goals against average, save percentage and win percentage (.750). He is tied for 17th in Division III in win percentage and ranks 18th in the nation in goals against average.

The Statesmen are 7-2-3 overall and 5-1-2 in conference play. Hobart is unbeaten in its last five games. The Statesmen are 12th in Division III in scoring defense, allowing an average of 2.00 goals per game. Hobart is tied for 15th in the nation in win percentage (.708).

The Statesmen are in the middle of a five-game road trip. Hobart will take on Connecticut College in a non-league game on Saturday, Dec. 30. The Camels bring a 3-4-0 overall record into the game. Chris Jellison leads the team with eight points on two goals and six assists. Connor Rodericks has seen the most time in goal. He is sporting a 1.76 goals against average, a .949 save percentage and a 3-1-0 record.
