Nov. 24: St. Lawrence University goaltender Kyle Hayton was named the ECAC Goaltender of the Week and the American Sports Network’s college hockey Player of the Week after his performance at Princeton and Quinnipiac.

Hayton stopped 72 of 73 shots on the weekend, beating Princeton 5-1 on Friday and battling Quinnipiac to a scoreless tie on Saturday. It was the first scoreless tie in Saint program history and Hayton’s seventh career shutout, just two short of Bill Sloan’s career record of nine.

Hayton has two shutouts in his last three starts and a 0.32 goals against average with a .990 save percentage.

The ECAC award was his first of the season. He was ECAC Goaltender of the Week once and Rookie of the Week three times and twice Rookie of the Month a year ago. He was the ECAC Rookie of the Year and the second-team All ECAC Goaltender.

He is the first Saint to be named player of the week by the American Sports Network.
