Goin Earns Goalie of the Week Honors

DANBURY, CT- Senior Keira Goin (Dobbs Ferry, NY/Hotchkiss School) of the Utica College women’s hockey team was named the ECAC West Goalie of the Week, Monday, after helping the Pioneers to a 2-1 record last week.

She allowed just three goals against in the three games, two of which were on the power play. On Tuesday, Goin stopped all 19 shots she faced for her third shutout of the season and 12th of her career. With the clean sheet, Goin moves into first place in the College’s career record book. Goin also made 22 saves in a 2-0 loss to #8/9 Oswego on Friday, before rebounding to save 28-of-29 shots against in a 2-1 win over the Lakers n Saturday. On the season, she has a 1.24 goals against average and .947 save percentage.

The Pioneers (8-5, 4-3 ECAC West) return to action Tuesday as they travel to Lebanon Valley. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
