ROCHESTER, N.Y. — First-year skater Eliza Beaudin ’22 of the No. 1/1-ranked Elmira College women’s ice hockey team was selected as the United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office this afternoon.

Beaudin, a native of Lewiston, Maine, finished the week with two points on a pair of goals to help lead the Purple and Gold to a UCHC series-opening sweep of Neumann University. The rookie forward did all of her damage in Friday night’s road tilt against the Knights, as she deposited a pair of goals in the 7-1 victory.

Beaudin’s first goal of the game, and first goal of the season, was registered at 17:03 of the first period on the power play, a tally that held up as the game-winner. She went on to register another goal, Elmira’s sixth of the contest, midway through the third period at 11:36.

Through her first three collegiate games, Beaudin is tied for second on the team in goals scored with two and is EC’s highest goal-scoring freshman.

Beaudin and her teammates return to action this Friday, November 9, when the Soaring Eagles battle Lebanon Valley College in UCHC action. The puck is set to drop at 7:00 p.m. at the Murray Athletic Center in Pine Valley, New York. Then, the following afternoon, Elmira and Lebanon Valley will conclude their two-game conference series with a 3:00 p.m. matchup at the MAC.
