ECC Earns Top Seed In Hockey Championships

The Erie Community College Men’s Hockey Team has earned the top seed in the 2015 NJCAA Hockey Championships

ECC’s Hockey Team had a great season going 20-3 overall and 10-0 in regional games.
Kats players also lead the boards in offensive and goaltending statistics.

Tyler Riter is ranked No. 1 in points with 47 while Trevor Evans comes in at No. 3 with 42. Bradley Jones is at No. 4 with 38, Edward Shantler is at No. 5 with 36, Jacob Macchioni is at No. 6 with 33, Ryan Hornberger is at No. 7 with 31, and Aaron Wanat is at No. 8 with 29 and Brett Ross rounds out the top 10 with 23 points.

In goals scored Riter is once again in the No. 1 spot with 33 with Evans at No. 2 with 19. Jones is No. 3 with 19 as well and Hornberger is at No. 5 with 18. Macchioni is at No. 6 with 16, Shantler is at No. 7 with 14, Wanat is at No. 9 with 12 and Jordyn Bellitto rounds out the top 10 with 8 goals

In assists Riter is ranked No. 2 with 25 while Evans is at No. 3 with 23. Shantler is at No. 4 with 22, Jones is at No. 5 with 19, Macchioni is at No. 6 with 17, Wanat is at No. 7 with 17, Brett Ross is at No. 8 with 17 and Hornberger is at No. 9 with 13.

In goaltending William Korcyzynski is ranked No. 2 in save percentage with .901%. He is also ranked No. 2 in saves with 273. Korczynski is ranked No. 1 in win percentage with .833%.

The Kats will play No. 4 ranked Mohawk Valley in the semifinals on Saturday Feb. 21 at 3pm.
