Hobart College senior goaltender Lino Chimienti (Montreal, Quebec) earned a spot on the inaugural D3hockey.com National Team of the Week. Chimienti, a second team selection, was also his week’s ECAC West Goalie of the Week.
Chimienti sported a 1.00 goals against average and a .964 save percentage in Hobart’s two ECAC West wins last weekend. He made a season-high 32 saves in 59:51 in goal in a 6-1 victory over Manhattanville on Friday night. The next day he stopped 21 shots in 60 minutes in a 4-1 win over Neumann. Chimienti improved to 2-0-1 in goal this season. He leads the ECAC West and ranks fifth in the nation with a 0.98 goals against average and a .964 save percentage this year.
The Statesmen (2-1-1, 2-0-0 ECAC West) will be back in action this weekend with two ECAC West games on the road. Hobart travels to take on Nazareth (0-1-2, 0-1-1) on Friday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. and plays at Utica (2-0-1, 1-0-1) on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m.
