Quotes:

Jack Capuano:
On the game: “We did some good things during the game. I just worry about how we play, what our work ethic is, what our structure is and we all come together. We did some really good things. I thought our back end, again tonight, just not having a few guys back there, did a really good job against some skilled forwards.”

Ryan Strome:
On the game: “I mean we almost had 50 shots. (Jaroslav Halak) made some big saves. I thought we outplayed them for 90% of the game. It’s kind of frustrating but good heart tonight and we fought hard.”

On the frustration: “We had so many chances. In the second, the third even the first, it’s kind of the way its going right now. It’s just frustrating, for myself included. You get these chances you want to bear down. It is what it is, a good hard point.”

Kyle Okposo:
On the game and Ryan Miller: “It’s definitely disheartening but we just got to keep going. I had a lot of chances today and just couldn’t put the puck in the net. Ryan (Miller) played well, you got to give him credit, he played a heck of a game.”

On the frustrating loss: “We can’t be too upset. We would like to get that second one (point) tonight but we can’t hang our heads. We played pretty well, we have a few games before the break and we really wanna squeak out as many points as we can.”

Willie Desjardins (Canucks Head Coach):
On New York getting nearly 50 shots: “I think most coaches would be concerned if they’re giving up 45 shots – so yeah, we are. We have to play better than that. You’re not going to win a lot of games when you give up 45 shots. Saying that i think we have good goaltending – I think its stepping up and showing that the last couple of weeks.”

Ryan Miller (Canucks Goaltender):
On the game: “They’re a good team, they create a lot. It’s just coming in with the expectation they’re gonna have a lot of east-west play. They’re gonna direct a lot of pucks to the net and they did that. I just wanted to be sharp, I got a good wake up call in the first shot of the game. (John) Tavares off the cross bar. I felt pretty good. I thought I was seeing the puck pretty well and the guys were helping me with that.”
