Buffalo State Women’s Hockey Wins Fifth Straight, Tops Neumann

PHILADELPHIA—Buffalo State continued its perfect start to the season, winning its fifth-consecutive game, defeating host Neumann, 4-2, tonight in an ECAC West contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The line of Bri Carroll (Peoria, AZ/Virtual Academy), Brooke Krantz (Penticton, BC/Penticton) and Christine Harris (Mountain Top, PA/Wyoming Seminary) continued its production, with each posting a goal and an assist in the victory.
Erin Gehen (West Seneca, NY/W. Seneca West) also scored, and Georgia Kleiner (Pelham, NY/Canterbury School) added two assists.
The teams traded power-play goals in the first period with Gehen striking first for the Bengals with her fifth of the season.
Carroll reclaimed the lead with another power-play tally early in the second period, but Neumann answered again.
Krantz’s first of the year just 33 seconds after the Knights’ equalizer proved to be the game-winner.
Harris added an insurance marker on the power play in the game’s closing minutes.
Buffalo State finished 3 for 10 on the power play, while Neumann was 1 for 7.
The Bengals held a 33-25 advantage in shots, and Justine Silva (Baldwin Park, CA/Arroyo) made 23 saves in the win.
FOR THE FOES
Kelly Fox and Bek Lucas scored for Neumann.
Justina Mayr finished with 29 saves in the loss.
