Bogart Makes 48 Saves In Fredonia’s Loss To Geneseo

GENESEO, N.Y. — Fredonia’s upset bid fell short Friday with a 3-0 SUNYAC men’s hockey loss at Geneseo.

The teams were locked in a scoreless duel until 7:26 of the second period. Jack Ceglarski put the Knights on top to stay with his second goal of the season.

Conlon Keenan followed at 15:15 of the second with his 10th goal before Devin Brink tallied an insurance tally at 10:04 of the third period.

The Blue Devils were outshot 51-23 by the Knights, who improved to 7-1-1 overall and 3-1-0 in the SUNYAC. They entered the week ranked No. 5 by USCHO.com and No. 4 — with one first-place vote — by D3Hockey.com.

Fredonia sophomore goaltender Eric Bogart (London, Ont.) was credited with 48 saves.

The Blue Devils fell to 3-4-1 overall and 3-3-1 SUNYAC heading into a Saturday night date with Brockport, which fell Friday to Buffalo State, 4-1.

The Brockport roster includes junior forward Matt Meredith, son of Fredonia Head Coach Jeff Meredith. Game time is 7 p.m.
