Beauts Face Connecticut In Buffalo On Sunday

BUFFALO – On Sunday, the Buffalo Beauts (0-1) host Kelli Stack and the Connecticut Whale (1-0) in week two of National Women’s Hockey League (www.nwhl.co) action. The NWHL is the first professional hockey league for women to offer paid contracts for its players.

The Buffalo roster features 2014 U.S. Olympic captain Meghan Duggan, two-time Olympian Brianne McLaughlin and 2014 Olympian Megan Bozek. Hometown stars include Kimberly Sass (East Amherst) and Emily Phalzer (Getzville). The Connecticut roster features two-time Olympian Kelli Stack and 2010 U.S. Olympic silver medalist Molly Engstrom.

Puck drop is at 3:30 P.M. at HarborCenter (100 Washington St, Buffalo) and tickets are just $15 each. (Buy tickets at http://nwhl.co/buy-tickets/) Pregame interviews will be arranged for television only between 1:30 – 2:30 PM. Postgame interviews will take place immediately following the game at approximately 6:00 P.M.

On the promotional front, the NWHL has partnered with the ECMC Foundation, an organization which helps provide free mammograms for underserved women via their mobile coach. This special vehicle will be parked near the arena for fans to tour on Sunday with free pink themed giveaways. Beauts players will also be wearing special pink jerseys which will be auctioned off after the game.

Members of the Beauts are also taking part in Saturday’s Making Strides of Buffalo event.
