Connecticut Whale 7, Buffalo Beauts 6 (SO)
The Whale scored four goals in the first 14 minutes and had a 6-1 lead early in the second period thanks to goals by Kelli Stack, Sam Faber, Kaleigh Fratkin, Jessica Koizumi, Shiann Darkangelo and Kelly Babstock.

That didn’t last. The Beauts tied the game with five unanswered goals in the second period, including a pair from both Kourtney Kunichika and Kelley Steadman, Meghan Duggan and Hayley Williams also scored for Buffalo.

Babstock would score the deciding goal in the shootout for Connecticut, who stand atop the NWHL at 5-0-0.

Megan Bozek became the first NWHL player ejected from competition after a high-sticking major in the first period.
