Amy Moritz, a veteran sports reporter for The Buffalo News and published author, will be the keynote speaker at the 2018 College Hockey America Tournament Kick-Off Banquet. Moritz will speak to the members of the six CHA teams during a night in which College Hockey America will also announce the 2017-18 Regular Season Award winners.

Moritz has written for The Buffalo News, covering college sports, baseball, and hockey since 1999. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism/mass communication from St. Bonaventure University and a master’s degree in humanities from the University of Buffalo. Moritz is also an endurance athlete, completing an Ironman as well as several marathons and half marathons, which prompted the writing and publishing of her memoir, I Thought You’d Be Faster: The Quest to Become an Athlete.

“We are thrilled to have Amy Moritz join us at the College Hockey America Tournament Kick-Off Banquet this year” said Commissioner Bob DeGregorio. “She is an accomplished journalist, a fixture in the Buffalo-area sports world, and someone we hope our female student-athletes of the CHA can draw inspiration from.”

The 2018 College Hockey America Tournament Kick-Off Banquet will be held at the Lexus Club in the KeyBank Center on February 28th at 7:00 p.m.
