To All,

The United States has now captured the gold in the first four major IIHF World Championships of 2016-17, including the IIHF World Junior Championships, the IIHF U18 Women’s World Championships, the IIHF Women’s World Championships and the IIHF U18 Men’s World Championships. No other nation has previously accomplished this feat in a single year.

I wanted to share this with all of you and let you know that while the players and the staff of these teams enjoy the accolades, as they rightfully should, the real thanks goes out to the thousands of volunteers across our country and our dedicated USA Hockey staff who work hard everyday in our rinks to ensure each of these players had a place to start and continue to play our game in a safe and competitive environment.

So with just one major event left, the IIHF Men’s World Championships in May, I wanted to let all of you know you should hold your head up with great pride and the satisfaction knowing all of the efforts you put into our game have helped in some way to make the United States one of the greatest hockey nations of all time.

We Are USA Hockey!

Thanks,

Jim Smith

President, USA Hockey
