The Niagara University Women’s Ice Hockey Team defeated Davenport in a weekend series of games.
In game one on Friday, October 2 NU’s Jaidyn Clipperton opened the scoring at 19:37, assisted by Biana Rushforth and Claire Mallett. Davenport answered back in the second with a single goal and then in the third period NU got two goals past the Davenport goalie ending the first game a 3-1 victory for the Purple Eagles. They were scored by Chloe Minkus and Rushforth. Maddison Webster was between the piples and stopped 23 of 24 shots on goal.
In the second game it was Niagara all the way with a 4-0 victory. Goals scored by Easton McComber, a powerplay goal by Minkus followed by another by Rushforth in the second. The final goal was by Armstrong in the third. Teaghan Yu had the shutout with 22 saves.
