PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Brianna Rice – Chatham University
Freshman, Forward, Newmarket, Ontario

Brianna Rice led Chatham to their first weekend sweep since January 2010.  In two games, she scored four goals and had two assists, including the game-winner in each game.  On Saturday, she scored with 38 seconds left in overtime to give Chatham a 5-4 win.  She tallied 13 shots for the weekend.

GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK

Sydney Aveson, Plattsburgh State
Senior, Goaltender, West Covina, Calif., Minnesota State – Mankato

Sydney Aveson gave the Cardinals another solid week in net, picking up two more shutouts to make it four straight to open the season. Aveson made 11 saves against the Bears in the league opener last Tuesday before stopping 16 shots in a 1-0 non-conference win over Castleton on Saturday afternoon.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Meghan Power – Neumann University
Freshman, Forward, Windsor, Ont.

Meghan Power notched two goals, including her first collegiate tally, in a 5-4 win against Saint Anselm. The freshman’s first goal came shorthanded in the second period. Her second goal tied the game at four 35 seconds into the third period as the Knights came from a 4-1 deficit for the 5-4 win.

WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Erin Weston – Elmira College
Junior, Forward, Ajax, Ont./Etobicoke Dolphins 

Erin registered four points on three goals and one assist in Elmira’s back-to-back wins over Utica. In Elmira’s first win over Utica, Weston assisted on the game winner and scored the following goal. Then, in EC’s win road win, she scored the first and third goals of the game, with her second goal being unassisted.

Shannon Stewart – Plattsburgh State
Junior, Forward, Pickering, Ont./Durham West Lighting

Shannon Stewart helped lead the Cardinals to a pair of wins with a five-point week. On Tuesday in the ECAC West Opener, Stewart scored four of the eight Plattsburgh State goals in an 8-0 win at Potsdam. Over the weekend against Castleton, the junior forward added an assist on the lone goal in the Cardinals’ 1-0 victory.

Lisa Marshall – Elmira College
Senior, Goalie, Powhatan, Va./Wayne State University

Lisa played in all 120 minutes this weekend, picking up a pair of ECAC West wins against Utica. She totaled 56 saves while allowing just two goals. Her 31 saves ties a career high for the senior netminder, dating back to the 2011-12 season.

Bridget Hamlin – Oswego State
Freshman, Forward, Hilton, NY/ Pittsburgh Penguins Elite 

Hamlin scored her second and third goals of her collegiate career in just her third and fourth game as a Laker. In a 3-2 loss to Potsdam on Friday, Hamlin scored a goal to close the Bears advantage to one goal but Oswego was unable to complete the comeback. On Saturday, Hamlin gave the Lakers a lead just minutes into a game they would eventually tie with the Bears.
