Hobart College first-year Tyler Wolf (Naperville, Ill.) was tabbed the ECAC West Rookie of the Week. Junior Mac Olson (Grosse Pointe, Mich.) also earned a spot on the league’s honor roll.

Wolf scored his first collegiate goal, helping the Hobart hockey team to a victory in its season opener. He notched the first goal of the 2014-15 season at 16:17 in the second period in a 3-1 win at Brockport.

Olson led the Statesmen with three points on two goals and an assist over the weekend. He logged what proved to be the game-winning goal against the Golden Eagles and notched a goal and an assist in a 5-4 loss at Potsdam.

After the first weekend of action, Hobart is averaging 3.50 goals per game and allowing 3.00 goals per game. The Statesmen rank third in the conference in penalty kills (85.7%).

The Statesmen are back on the road this weekend. Hobart opens ECAC West play at Manhattanville on Friday at 7 p.m., and then travels to take on Neumann on Saturday at 7 p.m.
