LOCKPORT, NY— Cornerstone CFCU Arena will play host to over 50 games during the Continental Cup Trophy hockey tournament from January 14th-17th. This year’s battle is drawing the top talent and teams from Canada, Russia and the United States for birth years 2006-2002. The event is expected to draw over 5,000 people to the Buffalo/Niagara Region.

“This is going to be a tremendous event – and is exactly the kind of thing we envisioned when we built the arena,” said James Sullivan, Cornerstone CFCU Arena Executive Director. “Cornerstone is a premier venue and the teams, coaches and fans are in for a real treat when they play here.”

The Cornerstone CFCU Arena is located at the intersection of Chestnut and Market Street in the City of Lockport, just south of the historic Erie Canal that runs through the heart of downtown. The 93,500 sq. ft. complex features two regulation size rinks along with over 2,000 square feet of space for retail and sports-related opportunities.

In addition to hockey, Cornerstone CFCU Arena offers training, figure skating, open skate and other activities for those with developmental disabilities and special needs. The YWCA of the Niagara Frontier’s Catering Crew operates the concession area.  There is also a new sports bar – The Penalty Box – located on the upper floor of the arena.
