Utica College Women’s Hockey Clinches First Round Home Playoff Game

CORTLAND, NY- The Utica College women’s hockey team wrapped up the regular season with a 4-2 win over host SUNY Cortland in ECAC West Conference action Saturday afternoon.

With the win, UC finishes tied for third in the conference standings with Buffalo State. The Pioneers lose the tie-breaker to the Bengals so Utica will be the fourth seed in the ECAC West tournament and will host fifth-seeded Oswego State in the conference quarterfinals on Thursday at the Utica Memorial Auditorium (7 p.m.)

The Pioneers finish the regular season with a 16-8-1 overall record and an 11-6-1 mark in the conference. They have won at least 15 games in four out of the last five seasons. UC has won its last seven and the Pioneers are 7-1-1 in their last nine.
