Chicago, IL – The United States Hockey League announced today that Dane Nolan has joined the organization as Manager of Hockey Operations, reporting to Adam Micheletti who has been promoted to Senior Director of Hockey Operations as part of the league’s consolidation of operational roles in their Chicago headquarters.

In his new role, Nolan will oversee roster transactions, official scoring reports, support the department in suspension reviews, enforce USA Hockey rules and regulations as well as help in the organization and planning of the USHL Development Series that includes developmental events, regional showcase events and USHL Draft.

Nolan comes to the USHL after a successful internship with the NHL’s Washington Capitals where his primary role with the Capitals hockey operations department involved research to support the club’s position in NHL salary arbitration hearings. Additional duties involved research for contract negotiations, player analysis, and other hockey operations related tasks.

“We’re excited to have Dane join the USHL staff and to become a key member of the hockey operations department,” said Micheletti. “There were many excellent candidates for this newly formed position, but Dane’s background and demeanor separated him from the others. He will be a valuable asset to the league office and our member clubs.”

Outside of hockey, Dane also helped make the second annual Military Bowl Presented by Northrop Grumman (formerly Eagle Bank Bowl) a success as a member of the DC Bowl Committee’s Business Development team. Sponsorship procurement, cooperation with major corporate and military partners, and execution of the game itself were all under the responsibility of the Business Development team.

Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, Dane attended the University of Central Missouri as an undergraduate as well as completing a master’s degree in Sports Industry Management from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Prior to joining the USHL, Dane worked as a consultant in the healthcare IT field.
