USA U17s Edged By Sweden, 3-2, At U17 Five Nations Tournament

BRNO, Czech Republic — Erik Middendorf (Scottsdale, Ariz.) and Oliver Wahlstrom (Quincy, Mass.) notched one goal each, but the U.S. National Under-17 Team fell to Sweden, 3-2, in the opening game of the 2017 Under-17 Five Nations Tournament here today at Sportcentrum Luzanky.

Team USA is 0-0-0-1 (W-OTW-OTL-L) at the tournament and will continue competition at 9 a.m. ET tomorrow (Feb. 9) at DRFG Arena when it takes on Russia.

Team USA goaltender Keegan Karki (Sartell, Minn.) made 25 saves, while Sweden’s Olof Lindbom stopped 28 shots.
