UNIVERSITY AT BUFFALO wins UNYCHL

The UB Bulls capped off an amazing playoff weekend by defeating Binghamton University 4-2 to capture their second UNYCHL title.

In the semifinals UB found themselves trailing 1-0 after two periods to Clarkson University. The Bulls were able to find the back of the net twice in the third and hang on for a thrilling 2-1 victory.

The other semifinal matched up Binghamton and Fredonia. Binghamton jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period, but Fredonia never quit as they kept rallying to get within one goal only to fall short 5-4.

In the title game the Bulls were led by tournament MVP Ryan O’Donnell (Williamsville NY) as he continued to stonewall and frustrate the opposition. O’Donnell and the Bulls shut down two 5 on 3 opportunities for Binghamton. The Bearcats crept within 3-2 with 6 minutes to play; however an empty net goal sealed the title for UB.

Also part of the weekend tournament- Niagara County Community College stunned Buffalo State 6-2 to capture the Tier 2 Championship.
