UC Men’s Hockey Receiving Votes In Both National Polls

UTICA, NY- The Utica College men’s hockey team is receiving votes in both the USCHO.com and the D3hockey.com national polls, released Monday.

The Pioneers picked up 13 votes in the USCHO.com poll, placing them fourth in the “receiving votes” category. Utica also picked up four votes in the D3hockey.com poll this week after going 1-0-1 in the opening weekend of ECAC West Conference action.

UC is currently unbeaten at 2-0-1 on the year. The Pioneers are led by sophomore Alex Brissette (Atlanta, GA/Hampton Roads (USPHL)) and freshman Hayden Dawes (Stony Plain, Alberta/Drayton Valley (AJHL)), who have four points each. Brissette also leads the squad with three goals so far on the year. Freshman Michael Fredrick (Lethbridge, Alberta/Brooks Bandits (AJHL)) boasts a 1.62 goals against average and .941 save percentage in three starts.

The Pioneers return to action at home on Friday night when they host rival Elmira College in conference action at the Utica Memorial Auditorium. The puck is scheduled to drop at 7 p.m.
