BUFFALO, New York – Uber and the home arenas of the Buffalo Bills and the Buffalo Sabres today announced that if the State Legislature were to allow ridesharing to operate across New York State, the organizations would immediately begin negotiating a partnership that would encompass making rides to and from Buffalo sporting events, including the upcoming NCAA tournament, and concerts even more efficient and seamless.
Currently, access to public transit at New Era Field and KeyBank Center is limited. This partnership will explore ways to ensure that fans have a safe, affordable way to get to and from the stadiums as well as reduce congestion at home games, concerts and other events.

“Buffalo’s sports fans are the best in the country, yet they’re some of the last in the country who can’t touch a button and get a ride in minutes,” said Kim Pegula, co-owner of the Buffalo Bills and Sabres. “We are committed to offering our fans easy and safe access to Bills and Sabres home games and are thrilled that Uber will work closely with us to make that happen. We just need Albany to make it happen – now.”

“Buffalo is the final frontier for ridesharing,” said Josh Mohrer, General Manager, Uber NY. “The voices of both Buffalo residents and visitors who are demanding Uber deserve to be heard by Albany leaders. If allowed to operate in Buffalo, we’ll work together to bring the magic of Uber to New Era Field and KeyBank Center.”

Uber has teamed up with professional sports team around the country to offer fans a more convenient way to access games, including designated pick-up and drop-off locations.
