The Folkus Room

Hello and welcome again to your Weekly Wot’s Wot in Folkus & around the traps… The Flatus turns 21 … YAY!

ed….
So much sadness (children victims of "adults" who’ve lost the plot)
and ugliness (two weeks ago I didn’t think Belinda or Robert could get any uglier but they have)
in the world BUT there is some good news…..
Oh GOODY! Having been brought up in the Catholic faith (although now a devout and practising atheist), I’m able to claim a Catholic badge and thereby rely on the new law "Thou shalt not cause annoyance to Catholics! Penalty $5,500" The seven day adventurers and others who cause annoyance by knocking on my door and spruiking their Jesus stuff will have to be very cautious indeed….
OOOPS! I’ve just realised… maybe I’ve just annoyed a couple of Catholics myself… Oh where will all this stupidity end???

Friday 4 July FOLKUS ON BLUES! Doors & Bistro from 6.00pm – Music from 7.30 Admission $20/$15 and children FREEEE!
"Acoustic Alternative" with Glenn Cardier, Earlwood Greg, Davo Fester & Phil Grove
Glenn Cardier has been writing great songs since the seventies. He has written for Olivia Newton John and toured with Spike Milligan and Frank Zappa . His latest CD “Exiles from Eden ‘ has recently received a glowing endorsement from our premier reviewer Bruce Elder[SMH] who describes the songs as ‘some of Australia’s finest songwriting.’ In his latest project, put together with the help of Earlwood Greg, Glenn has sought to bring his songs to life in a format that explores their full potential. Using the exceptional talents of Phil Grove [The Nevilles] on Keyboards and Dave Fester [Craig Calhoun] on Percussion, combined with Glenn’s smoking Guitar and Vocals and Earlwood’s sweet Lap Steel and Guitar he’s created a great live sound to match the beautiful songs. Earlwood will also take the chance to feature a few of his own songs throughout the evening. During rehearsals all four seasoned musicians have been very excited to be a part of such a quality production. Once we add the audience it promises to be something right out of the box.

One day The Lord spoke to Adam. "I’ve got some good news and some bad news," The Lord said. Adam looked at The Lord and replied, "Well, give me the good news first." Smiling, The Lord explained, "I’ve got two new organs for you, one is called a brain. It will allow you to create new things, solve problems, and have intelligent conversations with Eve. The other organ I have for you is called a penis. It will give you great physical pleasure and allow you to reproduce your now intelligent life form and populate this planet. Eve will be very happy that you now have this organ to give her children." Adam, very excited, exclaimed, "These are great gifts you have given to me. What could possibly be bad news after such great tidings?" The Lord looked upon Adam and said with great sorrow, "You will never be able to use these two gifts at the same time."

There Will Come Soft Rains

There will come soft rains and the smell of the ground,
And swallows circling with their shimmering sound;
And frogs in the pools singing at night,
And wild plum trees in tremulous white;
Robins will wear their feathery fire,
Whistling their whims on a low fence-wire;
And not one will know of the war, not one
Will care at last when it is done.
Not one would mind, neither bird nor tree,
If mankind perished utterly;
And Spring herself, when she woke at dawn
Would scarcely know that we were gone…………… Sara Teasdale
