Syracuse Stuns Jersey Shore, 5-4

Coach Lefevre had a hard time sleeping Saturday evning after the Stampede met the Jersey Shore Wildcats in game one of the two game homestand at Morrisville State College this weekend. The Stampede was all but run out of the building on Saturday and were dominated by the Wildcats 8-1 and out shot 54-27 in the contest. “The compete level was non-existent last night and it really left a bad feeling with me.” stated coach Lefevre. On Sunday morning the coaching staff addressed the team before they took the ice to stress the importance of sticking to systems and competing at an elevated level consistently.

Game two on Sunday morning was nothing more than playing to their potential as the Stampede handed the Wildcats only their 3rd loss of the season. This is the second time this season the Stampede has grabbed two points from the NA3EHL defending champions. The Stampede recieved goals from Nate Walker, Rocco Derollo, Ryan Gilroy, Christian Paradiso and The game winner by Hunter Soden to take the 5-4 victory and the split on the weekend. The Stampede was backstopped by KyleVanWagner in the victory turning aside all 47 Jersey Shore shots. ” It was great to see the guy’s step up as well as to see coach Lefevre take the reins and lead them to a huge win.” Stated coach Beavis “Now we have to build on this and keep this compete level up and who knows, we may be facing these same Wildcats come March !” added Beavis

The Stampede will practice this week and next in preperation for the next matchup VS Roc City at Morrisville State College on Friday the 22nd and Saturday the 23rd of January. Please see our schedule for game times.
