Cortland freshman forward Michael Faliero (West Seneca/Buffalo Jr. Sabres) has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Men’s Ice Hockey Rookie of the Week for the week ending November 12.
Faliero opened a home weekend series with Morrisville Friday by recording an assist for his first collegiate point in a 4-3 loss. The following night, he scored the game-winning goal and added two assists in a 5-2 win over the Mustangs.
Cortland (1-4, 1-2 SUNYAC) will host league games versus Fredonia on Friday and Buffalo State on Saturday, both at 7 p.m.
