SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Senior goaltender Colin Stevens (Niskayuna, N.Y.) of Union College has signed an entry-level contract with the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League.

Stevens completed his four-year career as Union’s all-time leader in wins (53), while sharing the school record for career shutouts (11). He ranks second in career goals-against average (2.12) and save percentage (.924), having appeared in 90 games. As a junior, Stevens backstopped the Dutchmen to the 2014 NCAA Championship in his first year as a starter, earning East All-America Second Team honors and ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Year accolades.

This past season Stevens compiled a 2.31 goals-against average and a .920 save percentage, along with a 16-15-0 record and two shutouts in 31 appearances.

Stevens is the third Dutchmen to sign a professional contract this week, joining Daniel Ciampini (AHL Worcester Sharks) and Max Novak (AHL Albany Devils).
