Skidmore Named SUNYAC Rookie Of The Week

POTSDAM, N.Y.-SUNY Potsdam men’s hockey player Nate Skidmore (Syracuse, N.Y./Buffalo Jr. Sabres) has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference’s Rookie of the Week for the week ending Dec. 13.

Skidmore, a goaltender, earned his first collegiate win in just his second career start on Friday night. The freshman stopped 34 shots in the Bears’ 4-3 win over Johnson & Wales, helping his team end a six-game winless streak. This season, Skidmore is 1-1 with a .896 save percentage and a 3.69 goals-against-average in two starts.

Potsdam (7-4-2) is off until it heads to Massachusetts in early January. The Bears travel to Milton to face Curry College on Jan. 9 at 4:45 p.m. They then head to Springfield to battle Western New England the following afternoon at 3 p.m.
