KANATA, ON – After a scoreless 56:35, Binghamton Senators forward Kyle Flanagan notched a power-play goal in the final minutes before Buddy Robinson added an empty net tally to top the Syracuse Crunch, 2-0, tonight at the Canadian Tire Centre.

Senators goaltender Chris Driedger earned his first career shutout, stopping all 21 shots. Andrei Vasilevskiy turned aside 26-of-27 in net for the Crunch. The Syracuse penalty kill unit went 4-for-5, while the Crunch were unable to convert on four of their own power play opportunities.

The loss continues an eight-game winless streak for the Crunch as they move to 19-21-9-1 on the season and 5-1-1-0 in the 10-game series with the Senators.

After two scoreless periods, the Senators finally solved Vasilevskiy with 3:25 remaining in the contest. Flanagan powered a shot from the top of the left circle on the man-advantage off assists from Casey Bailey and Zack Stortini.

Two minutes later, Robinson netted a shorthanded empty net marker to defeat the Crunch, 2-0. Cole Schneider and Mark Fraser recorded points on the final goal.

The Crunch return home to host the St. John’s IceCaps on Feb. 17 at 7 p.m.
