William Smith College junior Egan Sachs-Hecht (Plainview, N.Y./Lawrenceville) was recently named to the 2017-18 Women’s College Hockey All-America Team by the Jewish Sports Review (JSR). Sachs-Hecht is the first Heron to be recognized by JSR.

Sachs-Hecht played in all 26 games for William Smith, guiding the Herons to a program best 16-6-4 record. She recorded a season-high three goals, seven assists and 10 points this season. Sachs-Hecht was a key member of the Heron defense that limited opponents to 1.50 goals per game. William Smith was second in UCHC and ninth in the nation in scoring defense in 2017-18. Sachs-Hecht was fifth on the team with 19 blocked shots.

Sachs-Hecht has played in all 76 games in her first three seasons as a Heron. She has compiled 17 points on six goals and 11 assists.

Sachs-Hecht is the fifth Hobart and William Smith student-athlete to be recognized by JSR. Hobart hockey’s Ryan Adler ’09 was a selection in 2006 and 2009 and Zach Sternbach ’20, was named to this year’s team Hobart soccer’s Matt Schwartz ’09 was a selection in 2008, and Hobart Football’s Ali Marpet ’15 also received recognition in 2014.
