RPI Men’s Hockey Lends a Hand In Canada

BRITT, Ont. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men’s hockey team went on a four-day team bonding trip to Britt, Ontario last week, helping out the community in a number of ways during their stay on

All 27 players made the trip up north, along with four coaches and staff members. The team crushed cans at the Britt Lions Club, built picnic tables, cut and stacked wood, while also preparing for the flooding of the area community skating rink.

Britt is located in the Perry Sound District on Ontario, which is roughly four hours north of Toronto. Aside from helping out the surrounding area, the Engineers spent time cooking for each other and participated in a friendly fishing competition amongst each other.

Rensselaer opens its 2017-18 schedule with an exhibition game on September 30 against St. Mary’s University (N.S.) at the Houston Field House, before visit Ohio State for a pair on October 13 and 14 to kick off the regular season.
