ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT men’s hockey team heads back out on the road, travelling to Army West Point for a pair of games on Friday, Nov. 6 and Saturday, Nov. 7. Both games from Tate Rink get underway at 7:05 p.m.

RIT (2-4-1, 2-0-0 AHC) won its first two games of the season and opened 2-0 in Atlantic Hockey play with a weekend sweep at American International, winning 4-2 on Friday and 6-2 Saturday. Mark Golberg (Ottawa, Ontario/Cumberland Grads) had five points on a goal and four assists and on Saturday, Liam Kerins (Caledon, Ontario/North York Rangers) tallied his first two collegiate goals and added an assist. On Friday, Abbott Girduckis (Belleville, Ontario/Wellington Dukes) scored his first collegiate goal. Mike Rotolo (Rochester, NY/Cedar Rapids Roughriders) earned the win in goal on Friday with 15 saves, while Christian Short (Vaughan, Ontario/Surrey Eagles) picked up his first collegiate victory on Saturday with 17 saves.

Golberg, who had 11 points in his first 40 career contests, now has seven over his last three games. He leads the team in scoring with eight points on a goal and seven assists. Gabe Valenzuela (Brampton, Ontario/North York Rangers) has five points on two goal and three assists, while Greg Amlong (O’Fallon, MO/UMass Lowell) has three goals to pace the squad. In goal, Rotolo has played in five games with a 3.75 goals against average and .872 save percentage. Short is 1-1-0 with a 2.51 goals against average and .889 save percentage.

Army West Point (0-4-1, 0-3-1 AHC) enters the weekend looking for its first win of the season. Last time out, the Black Knights fell to Bentley on Sunday, 6-2 from the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn. Conor Andrle leads the team in scoring with five points on a goal and four assists, while Trevor Fidler has two goals and four points. Army West Point has allowed 22 goals in five contests this season, having been out-scored 22-9. In goal, Parker Gahagen has a 4.22 goals against average and .881 save percentage in three games, while Cole Bruns has a 4.04 goals against average and .849 save percentage in two contests.

RIT leads the all-time series between the two schools, 14-3-5. The two teams split the season series 1-1 last year at the Gene Polisseni Center. Before the loss last season, the Tigers had a 15-game unbeaten streak against Army West Point dating back to the 2008-09 season.
